Kinship Coffee sits on Steinway Street in Astoria, offering a cozy spot where locals come for quality coffee and a calm atmosphere. This coffee shop is on the smaller side, making it a natural choice for those who want a low-key place to unwind or get some focused work done without a noisy crowd. The seating is limited, so if you’re planning to set up a laptop for a couple of hours, earlier in the day or weekday visits might be best.

The coffee menu leans toward the craft side, with highlights like the flat white and cappuccino appealing to traditional coffee drinkers, while the almond croissant and pecan coffee cake provide solid options for a quick bite. They also excel at specialty drinks such as a lavender oat milk latte and seasonal options like a honey latte — worth trying if you don’t mind a possible wait. For those who prefer cold brews, there’s a house blend and nitro on draft, which locals appreciate during warmer days.

Kinship also caters well to people with dietary preferences, evident from their range of vegan sweets and non-dairy milk options, including sugar-free alternatives. Matcha lovers find a spot here too, with ceremonial-grade matcha served traditionally, a detail that sets this spot apart from many typical coffee shops.

The overall vibe at Kinship leans into a quiet, relaxed mood that suits solo visitors or small groups, whether you're reading, catching up on work, or just enjoying a moment of calm in a busy neighborhood. The interior feels modern but unpretentious — comfortable enough to linger over a second cup, but not so spacious that it draws large crowds or loud chatter.

This place fits neatly into Astoria’s everyday rhythm, where neighbors and coffee enthusiasts drop by for both ritual and discovery. Whether you want a straightforward espresso, a vegan treat, or a slightly unusual latte, Kinship invites a mindful approach to coffee with a local touch.

A lovely little coffee shop with excellent coffee. The maple brew is excellent, and the vibe of the spot is very chill, fun to sit for a bit. Small for sure, but a must stop when you’re in Astoria.

I had such a great experience at this coffee shop! They serve ceremonial grade matcha (unsweetened) with dairy-free milk options that are also sugar free made to absolute perfection and served hot, just the way I like it. I also grabbed a slice of vegan banana bread that was surprisingly delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, making it a perfect spot to relax. The woman behind the counter was so warm and welcoming, with a kind smile that added to the whole vibe. Definitely coming back!

One of my favorite coffee shops in Astoria (on Steinway). Great service and I love their lavender oat milk latte. They allow laptops (for an hour). Few seatings

The coffee shop is super modern and beautiful inside. The seasonal drink, the honey latte I had was delicious, amazing quality and taste. It just took a really long time and there was confusion with my order, avoid the seasonal drinks and you’ll be fine. Great if your looking for a place to study, work or read for an hour not long.

This coffee shop had a great atmosphere, loved the design choices. The inside is bigger than other coffee shops close by. They had a nice selection of morning pastries and the merchandise was nice. If you like a Cappuccino in the morning you won't be disappointed. Loved the cup design.

Nice small coffee shop along Steinway. Stopped by for their seasonal hot apple cider. Definitely hit the spot on a chilly day. They also have your standard selection of coffee drinks. They have some seating space available. Pricing is reasonable and quality is great. Service was friendly and quick.
